Vote “Yes” on Prop. 8 in California

The pending vote for Proposition 8 here in California is heating up.  This is a significant piece of legislation and I think the moral impact of this legislation will be profound.  I encourage you to click on the picture and become more familiar with the issue.  Or better yet, read this Op Ed piece from the LA Times (gasp!) where a liberal democrat reasons that we should VOTE YES on Prop 8.  It is a short, but poignant read.

Brave or stupid?

We had a bit of goof up trying to get this posted.  We have the below story with pictures on this link here https://miller6pack.wordpress.com/brave-or-stupid/

“Back in the day, I always wanted to go skydiving. Nate remembered an opportunity I had to go and I turned it down because he came up to Logan to see me. He never forgot. 10 years later, he completely surprised me and gave me the chance to do it! Now that I’m alive and back on the ground, I can say, “Thanks Nate!” It was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Although, maybe I’ll do it again when I’m 90…”

Trip to Geneva Switzerland

I went to Geneva around the beginning of September, but this month has been so busy I haven’t had a chance to update the blog.  I have inlcuded a couple of pictures of Geneva that I took.  I was there for about a week as I was learning the new part of the business I will be working in.  It was interesting.  If you would like to see more you can click on my Flickr photostream on the right and see more pictures and captions.

Students of the Month

Just like last year this time, both Ethan and Rylan were recognized as Student of the Month in their respective classes.  Rylan’s teacher, Mrs. Parsley, noted that Rylan was the most compassionate person she knew.  Ethan has noted as having 75 AR points (now 79) which pertains to passing reading comprehension tests.  The 3rd grade year end goal is 50 points.  Another class had a girl who was recognized for getting 50 points, Ethan was at least 150% of that!  Way to go boys.

Cornhuskers

Many of you are probably already aware, but for those that aren’t this may come as a bit of a surprise, but we are moving to Nebraska!  A Large Plant HR Manager job has opened up there and we will be moving, well, sometime, we are not too sure exactly yet.  We have a lot to figure out still, but we thought we should at least get the word out.  If you know anyone who wants to rent a nice home in Sunny SoCal, let us know!

Here is a map we have created showing Columbus and the location of several homes we are interested in looking at.  You can actually copy the links and paste them into your browser.

More to come …
